Every day, we are many different things: we are light and shadow, sunshine and rain, happy and sad. We are leaves that swirl and play, fall and rise again. In this emotional whirlwind, however, we all need a branch, a place, where we can be welcomed and loved.
- A project born from a visual idea by Marianna Balducci: the famous “The Dance of the Leaves,” which has won several awards.

Angelo Mozzillo
Angelo Mozzillo writes stories for children and young readers. Among his novels is the humorous detective series Detective Linus (Il Battello a Vapore/Piemme). His recent picture books include La famosa esplosione alla fabbrica della nebbia (Clichy), Non mi aspettavo (Terre di mezzo), and Io sono foglia (Bacchilega Junior), the latter winning both the Premio Andersen and the Superpremio Andersen in 2021.

Marianna Balducci
An illustrator from Rimini, Marianna Balducci has a degree in fashion and works on advertising and publishing projects for children. She likes to experiment with combinations of traditional and digital tools, combining drawing and photography in particular. With her photo-illustrated books she has received the Nati Per Leggere prize (2018) and the Andersen prize (2021). For ten years, she has accompanied her drawing with a visual communication seminar for the fashion department at Rimini (Alma Mater Studiorum, Bologna). She holds workshops in collaboration with academies and training institutions in the field of illustration.
