Rhinos can’t swim

Adventure

Some adventures begin with a dream. Others with a rhino. What if the wildest story in history was true?

Saverio dreams of seeing a rhino more than anything else. When one finally arrives in Italy – and disappears in a shipwreck – everyone says it’s gone forever. But Saverio finds it, alive and confused, on a beach in Porto Venere. Hiding a rhino is no easy task. Neither is outwitting a gang of greedy mercenaries. But if there’s one thing Saverio believes in, it’s that some stories are too important to be left to the grown-ups.

  • Inspired by true events – based on the real-life rhinoceros that stunned Europe and inspired Dürer’s iconic woodcut.
  • Historical fiction with a twist – blends fact and fantasy with humour, heart, and a touch of absurd adventure.
