Emmeline Pankhurst
Biography
Graphic Novel
Born into a family in which political commitment was intertwined with everyday life, Emmeline always breathed activism. And since she was a child, she understood how women had to commit to change both their own conditions and the rooted beliefs about their being the “weaker sex”.
Her motto, with which she managed to inspire her companions, was “Never underestimate the power we woman have to define our own destinies.” Her commitment accompanied her in every phase of her life: in studying, in motherhood, in the very painful period of mourning after the loss of her husband.
And she became a true icon of the liberation struggle.
