Love Ends Before Dinner

Romance
Thriller

One woman. Two men. A tangled love story where fiction becomes the most dangerous affair.

A gun to his head and ten seconds to live: that’s all the time Ernest Barton has to look back on a life filled with passion, lies, and unforgettable women. But the young man threatening him isn’t here to kill him—he just wants Sophie back. And Sophie, as it turns out, might not be who either of them thought she was.

  • A literary meta-thriller that blends Beckett-like absurdism with emotional drama.
  • A narrative structure that shifts between characters and timelines, blurring the lines between fact and fiction.

Lorenzo Rulfo

Lorenzo Rulfo was born in Turin in 1985. Raised in a family of journalists, he spent his childhood between school classrooms and theater workshops. He began acting at a very young age, first on stage and then on television—at just 13, he was cast in a leading role in a primetime drama on Italy’s national broadcaster, RAI. He later worked as an assistant to some of Italy’s most renowned directors and wrote numerous plays for the stage. While pursuing his studies and working as an actor, he discovered a strong passion for storytelling, which led him to win the Narrative Section of the Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (Bari, 2006). He is the author of the acclaimed children’s series Quelli della Rodari (Lapis Editore), the adult novel Finisce l’amore prima di cena (Love Ends Before Dinner, Gallucci Editore), and a short story featured in the anthology Le farfalle nello stomaco (Gallucci Editore). Since 2014, he has been the General Manager of Book on a Tree.
