One Hundred Steps to Fly

Coming of age

The Breath of the Mountain. The Courage to Take Flight.

Lucio is fourteen years old and lost his sight when he was young. He still remembers the colors and shapes of things, but now everything is wrapped in darkness. He loves the mountains, where he often goes with his Aunt Bea, because there his keen senses reveal a world unknown to others. In the mountains, everything is amplified, and the wind carries scents, sounds, and animal calls that people usually overlook. Not Lucio. It is precisely in the Dolomites, during a walk on the Devil’s Peak with his new friend Chiara, that Lucio’s life becomes intertwined with that of a young eagle, Zephyr, kidnapped by poachers. All seems lost, but the Mountain pulses with life and clues and might reveal the truth to those who, like Lucio, know how to listen…

  • A touching tale that celebrates inner strength and the beauty of discovering the world through different eyes.
