A young Stevenson, a mysterious island, and the adventure that inspired an immortal classic.

Inspired by an episode from the early life of Robert Louis Stevenson, Fabrizio Silei creates an entirely new story in the genre the British writer loved most: adventure. In this tale, the young and fragile Stevenson finds himself swept into a thrilling journey that shares more than a few elements with the 1883 classic Treasure Island: Jim, the innkeeper’s son, sets off in search of the legendary treasure hidden by the pirate Long John Silver on a secret island. Silei has fun planting clues throughout his story that nod to Stevenson’s masterpiece — but he doesn’t reveal them all. To find them, readers are invited to dive into Treasure Island themselves.

  • A story inspired by the real childhood of Robert Louis Stevenson, reimagined with narrative sensitivity to explore the roots of his vivid imagination.
  • An adventure and coming-of-age novel that sparks curiosity for literature, science, and the lives of classic authors — perfect for readers aged 10 and up.

In the same series (Le Orme, Erickson): One piece at a time by Annalisa Strada, The cruel sister by Cristina Brambilla, The geometric man by Guido Sgardoli.
