The Gigglegang. The big Christmas show – vol. 22

Humorous

The school you’ve always dreamed of!

Christmas is coming to Picco Pernacchia! As always, it’s snowing a lot, really a lot. The students of Class 2B can’t wait for enough snow to fall to cover the plane tree Egidio all the way to the top, at which point Rodari School will close early. But no! By a twist of fate, this time the top of the tree is clearly visible, and classes will continue without interruption until Christmas Eve. No excuses: the students must prepare a Christmas play. The preparations begin. Everyone is assigned a task: sewing costumes, making the set, preparing some rudimentary music with dusty instruments found in the music room, and so on. Some students are excited about the play and work enthusiastically, but not everyone. Some students, under Mino Minimo’s leadership, start the MDS (Movement of Sabotage) against the Christmas play. The plan is already set: everything will start when Nino Niagara shouts “Brrr, it’s cold!” on stage.

  • Each book tells the adventure of one of the classmates, narrated in the first person and tied to the other titles through a narrative framework.

  • A fresh and fun style, characterized by a humorous touch, perfect for captivating even the most reluctant readers!

Author
Lorenzo Rulfo

Lorenzo Rulfo was born in Turin in 1985. Raised in a family of journalists, he spent his childhood between school classrooms and theater workshops. He began acting at a very young age, first on stage and then on television—at just 13, he was cast in a leading role in a primetime drama on Italy’s national broadcaster, RAI. He later worked as an assistant to some of Italy’s most renowned directors and wrote numerous plays for the stage. While pursuing his studies and working as an actor, he discovered a strong passion for storytelling, which led him to win the Narrative Section of the Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (Bari, 2006). He is the author of the acclaimed children’s series Quelli della Rodari (Lapis Editore), the adult novel Finisce l’amore prima di cena (Love Ends Before Dinner, Gallucci Editore), and a short story featured in the anthology Le farfalle nello stomaco (Gallucci Editore). Since 2014, he has been the General Manager of Book on a Tree.
