ABOUT US

Book on a Tree is a storytelling and creative smithery that creates and sells children’s and YA books, offers 360-degree writing and editorial services, and develops IPs and digital content.
We specialise in fire-breathing dragons, bookcases that creak open into hidden rooms, rebel princesses, magic mirrors, time machines, and just about anything that sparks the imagination of children and young adults.

HOW OUR STORY BEGAN
Book on a Tree was founded in 2014 by Pierdomenico Baccalario, author and writer of numerous novels and children’s series (like the international bestsellers Ulysses Moore and Sherlock, Lupin & Me).
The company was built on the vision of facilitating work together, in a relaxed but culturally stimulating environment, with established and debut authors, publishers, illustrators, editors, translators, and screenwriters, without divisions of role or hierarchy, with the desire to create a small heritage of new stories and credible characters.
Over the years, this vision has become a recognised creative method, giving rise to a storytelling workshop founded on the ethics of collaboration and the values of professional friendship.

HOW WE WORK
IMMAGINATION MEETS COLLABORATION

Book on a Tree is a real storytelling and creative agency that works from an imaginary treehouse.
Stories provide the magic that powers our treehouse workshop. Up in the branches of our tree, our authors, illustrators, editors, and translators work as a team sharing ideas and building collaborative circles with publishers and businesses worldwide. From our secret base we craft a highly diverse range of projects, from novels to school texts, video games to animations, TV series to film scripts, website copy to transmedia bibles.
Every project has a mastermind. Every story has an author. But the author is never on their own. This is the philosophy we believe in, which is why our creative process is based on bringing together diverse talents, enabling people to collaborate and draw on each other’s abilities and expertise, breathing life into the unique projects we manage and curate with boundless passion.
