Post Tenebras. Death to the Witch
We hereby open the witch hunt!
You’re seventeen, passionate about chemistry, and have mismatched eyes. What’s the worst that could happen? That in the midst of the Belle Époque’s great scientific progress, society turns backward, reviving the witch hunts and pushing women out of intellectual life. No—worse than that, your sister is arrested by the Inquisition, and no lawyer dares defend her. Actually, even worse—despite being locked away, she keeps appearing to you as if she were really there.
Mimì has the odds stacked against her, but with the help of John, an English lawyer with a love for science, she refuses to back down. Together, they investigate the strange illness spreading around Lake Geneva and the dragons rising from its depths. As they search for the truth—while trying not to be too distracted by their growing feelings for each other—they uncover the real culprit: pollution, poisoning the people and awakening ancient creatures from the abyss.
Because there’s a scientific explanation for everything. Or almost.
- A Victorian setting — late 19th-century Geneva, illuminated by the Industrial Revolution.
- Two sisters, reminiscent of Jo and Amy March, embodying that unique bond between two girls who couldn’t be more different yet remain deeply devoted to each other.
